Nathalie Forget was unanimously awarded the First Prize in ondes Martenot at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, where she studied under Valérie Hartmann-Claverie.

She also has Master’s degrees in musical philosophy, with a focus on Olivier MESSIAEN, and in visual arts (photography and performance).

She has played all over Europe, as well as in the United States, Africa, Mexico, Russia and Canada with leading conductors and ensembles including Hans ZENDER, Peter RUNDEL, Ilan VOLKOV, Joana MALLWITZ, Daniel KAWKA, Simone YOUNG, Sylvain CAMBRELING, Heinz HOLLIGER, Kent NAGANO, Marin ALSOP, Reinbert de LEEUW, Pierre BOULEZ, Esa-Pekka SALONEN, Myung-Whun CHUNG, the London Sinfonietta, the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Nederlandse Opera, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, the Rai National Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the OCBA (Mexico), the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden Freiburg, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Madrid Teatro Real Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France…

Festival appearances include the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland, the Biennale of Bern, Donaueschingen Festival and several concerts at the BBC Proms in London.

She’s regularly invited to the Festival MESSIAEN au Pays de la Meije.

She performs major works for ondes Martenot by Messiaen, Honegger, Milhaud, Varèse, Murail, Jolivet, Koechlin and Scelsi, among others, and is also very committed to contemporary music, improvisation and rock music (with such ensembles as Ensemble L’ITINÉRAIRE, collectif WARN!NG, FAUST, RADIOHEAD and ULAN BATOR) and to premiering radical new repertoire for the instrument.

In addition, she combines the ondes Martenot with contemporary art in performance and pieces alogside sculptures, voices, photographs and projections, in which she interrogates the notions of Utopia, vibrant and revealing animality, love, torture, and indifference.

Her recordings include the Dvd of Olivier MESSIAEN’s Opera, SAINT FRANÇOIS D’ASSISE, conducted by Ingo METZMACHER  and staged by Pierre AUDI as well as Giacinto SCELSI major work, UAXUCTUM, with the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Choir of Radio France.

Since 2016 she has been ondes Martenot professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris.

In 2020 was published the book of Eric VALENTIN: L’insurrection de la douceur, les performances musicales de Nathalie Forget, at Éditions L’Harmattan.
