Nathalie Forget a le premier prix d’ondes Martenot à l’unanimité du Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (classe de Valérie Hartmann-Claverie).
Elle est également titulaire d’une maîtrise de philosophie de la musique sur Olivier MESSIAEN et d’un master en arts plastiques (photographie et performance).
Elle s’est produite partout en Europe, ainsi qu’aux États-Unis, en Afrique, au Mexique, en Russie et au Canada sous la direction de chefs tels Hans ZENDER, Peter RUNDEL, Ilan VOLKOV, Joana MALLWITZ, Daniel KAWKA, Simone YOUNG, Sylvain CAMBRELING, Heinz HOLLIGER, Reinbert de LEEUW, Kent NAGANO, Pierre BOULEZ, Marin ALSOP, Esa-Pekka SALONEN, Myung-Whun CHUNG, avec notamment le London Sinfonietta, l’Orchestre de la Fondation Gulbenkian, le Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, le Nederlandse Opera, le NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, l’orchestre Symphonique National de la Rai, le Toronto Symphony Orchestra, l’OCBA de Mexico, le SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden Freiburg, le Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester de Berlin, l’Orchestre du Teatro Real de Madrid, le BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France…
Elle a joué dans des festivals tels que le Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival en Finlande, la Biennale de Bern, le Festival de Donaueschingen et plusieurs fois aux BBC Proms de Londres.
Elle est régulièrement invitée au Festival MESSIAEN au pays de La Meije.
Elle est interprète des œuvres majeures pour ondes (Messiaen, Honegger, Milhaud, Varèse, Murail, Jolivet, Koechlin, Scelsi…) ; elle est également très investie dans la musique contemporaine, l’improvisation et la musique rock (Ensemble L’ITINÉRAIRE, collectif WARN!NG, FAUST, RADIOHEAD, ULAN BATOR…) et la création d’un répertoire radicalement nouveau pour cet instrument.
Elle associe par ailleurs les ondes Martenot à l’art contemporain sous forme de performances (avec sculptures, voix, photographies et projections) ; elle y interroge les notions d’utopie, d’animalité vibrante et révélatrice, d’amour, de torture et d’indifférence.
Parmi ses enregistrements figure le DVD de l’opéra SAINT FRANÇOIS D’ASSISE d’Olivier MESSIAEN, sous la direction d’Ingo METZMACHER, mis en scène par Pierre Audi, ainsi que l’oeuvre majeure de Giacinto SCELSI, UAXUCTUM, avec l’Orchestre Philharmonique et le Choeur de Radio France.
Depuis 2016, elle est professeure d’ondes Martenot au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris.
En 2020 est paru l’ouvrage d’Eric VALENTIN: L’insurrection de la douceur, les performances musicales de Nathalie Forget aux Éditions L’Harmattan.

Nathalie Forget was unanimously awarded the First Prize in ondes Martenot at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, where she studied under Valérie Hartmann-Claverie.
She also has Master’s degrees in musical philosophy, with a focus on Olivier MESSIAEN, and in visual arts (photography and performance).

She performs major works for ondes Martenot by Messiaen, Honegger, Milhaud, Varèse, Murail, Jolivet, Koechlin and Scelsi, among others, and is also very committed to contemporary music, improvisation and rock music (with such ensembles as Ensemble L’ITINÉRAIRE, collectif WARN!NG, FAUST, RADIOHEAD and ULAN BATOR) and to premiering radical new repertoire for the instrument.
In addition, she combines the ondes Martenot with contemporary art in performance and pieces alogside sculptures, voices, photographs and projections, in which she interrogates the notions of Utopia, vibrant and revealing animality, love, torture, and indifference.
Her recordings include the Dvd of Olivier MESSIAEN’s Opera, SAINT FRANÇOIS D’ASSISE, conducted by Ingo METZMACHER and staged by Pierre AUDI as well as Giacinto SCELSI major work, UAXUCTUM, with the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Choir of Radio France.
Since 2016 she has been ondes Martenot professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris.
In 2020 was published the book of Eric VALENTIN: L’insurrection de la douceur, les performances musicales de Nathalie Forget, at Éditions L’Harmattan.
